In this seminar Beverly offers a new perspective of movement in visual development in the baby’s first year. Participants will learn that from the start, goal directed actions are motivated by the baby to engage in social interactions and explore their environment.
Movement enhances the development of looking behavior; and visual engagement to reach an object leads to movement and exploration. In this workshop participants will learn that these actions and interactions occur much earlier than previously documented.
Beverly’s Interactive workshops and seminars are based on her educational books, videos, and baby movement research in her new book Your Self-Motivated Baby : Enhance Your Baby’s Social and Cognitive Development in the FIRST SIX MONTHS through Movement, that dramatically influences the baby’s development in the first year.
Participants gain a comprehensive movement framework and vocabulary to enhance their observation skills. This experiential approach will focus on developmental movements, expressive communication and self-motivated learning.
“Thanks so much for coming! The students have all been enthusiastic and responsive, commenting on how finely-tuned their awareness is becoming in finding connections between sensing, moving —play and learning. The movement explorations you did with the Mind in Motion class are contributing directly to their understanding of the sequencing of motor development and coordination”.
